Manila, Philippines
Food and music when combined is heaven.
Imagine no more because a TV series titled, The Kitchen Musical will soon invade Asia. It's basically patterned on Glee, but it's a whole lot different because first of all, the actors are "chefs" and the focus of the story happens mainly inside the kitchen. Whenever they get stressed and in a rush, the chefs sing instead of hurrying up. Nice.
One more thing to look forward to, this series will feature Karylle and Christian Bautista along with other Asian stars from different countries. I just noticed, there are a lot of Filipino actors who are in the show, what a feat! Pinoys are truly talented, ayt?
Here are some samples to give you an idea about The Kitchen Musical.
Sous Chef Madeline (played by Karylle) and that cutie guy Sous Chef Daniel, are pressured while strutting their vocal chords to the tune of Tick Tock, 4 Minutes. Jaime Fabregas is the waiting/impatient customer and Gary V appears in the later part and does his moves, man. (see video below)

Rachel Alejandro is so funny and versatile with her interpretation of Nelly Furtado's Maneater! Look at the grim on Karylle and Sous Chef Daniel's face when Rachel goes around scaring them and fiercely cutting eggplants on the table with her big knife.
According to reports, The Kitchen Musical (TKM) will initially run for 13 episodes, one hour each, weekly. It will be aired on AXN and rumor has it, ABS-CBN was granted the rights to show TKM in the Philippines. Karylle and Christian flew off to Singapore to shoot the series and they'll stay there for four months - tops. Congratulations, make Filipinos proud!
